History of Maharaja Ranjit Singh
Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780–1839), also known as the Sher-e-Punjab (Lion of Punjab), was the founder of the Sikh Empire in the early 19th century. Born in Gujranwala, he united the Sikh misls (confederacies) and established one of the strongest kingdoms in Indian history.
